George Earle's Mill

This was George Earle's mill, located next to the dam. Its large, 5 story frame cast a beautiful reflection across the lake. George dammed Deep River in 1845 and built a saw mill and this grist mill. The mill opened in 1847 and it is from 1847 that Hobart calculates its age. |
